PET CARE CHECKLIST
Before you leave your companion in the care of dog sitters, there are several important things they need to know to keep your pet(s) safe and healthy. Don’t forget to give this information directly to them or to leave it in an obvious place such as the refrigerator or on the counter, along with your house keys and access codes.
If your pet sitter hasn’t followed-up prior to your trip, contact them. Discuss the contents of this list to ensure opportunity for questions.
• Where are you leaving the key?
• Emergency contact phone numbers
• Your contact info, email, cell numbers, phone #
• Veterinarian’s phone number and address
• Pet allergy information
• Medication location, dosage and description
• Secret key location or lock combination
• Garage door code
• Home security alarm code
• Location of collar, leash, treats, doggie bags, etc.
• Amount of food your dog eats, and feeding time
• Your pet(s) routine or hiding spots
• What to do with the key once care is complete
• Discuss the amount and form of payment
• Be sure to leave a check or cash
Let them know if they should expect company; construction crew, neighbors, family, house keeper, landscapers, etc. This will help your pet sitters provide you with updates and information about anything suspicious while you’re out of town.
