Alternative Pet Care MD is owned and operated by The Hayward's

A few years ago, we set out to provide a professional pet care service, offering the kind of pet sitters and personal care your pet would choose if he or she were in charge. Now, with many paws of praise and tails waggin’ in neighboring areas, we’re pretty sure we got it right! We have successfully grown to be one of the most referred and preferred in-home companion care companies in the area.

Much more than just dog walkers, we also offer professional pet care and assistance to those medically/physically challenged.  Our pet care specialists are highly qualified, First Aid Pet Certified and Veterinary trained to care for the basic needs of your pet(s) as well as emergency situations.

We are unique to this industry; there aren’t many companies that are familiar or trained in animal emergency care. We can take the necessary measures to assist your vet or emergency care location with preliminary diagnosis.  Additionally, we are licensed, bonded, insured and will work with canines to promote social/friendly behavior amongst pets and people.

Socializing your pet(s) with other animals and people is one of the best forms of rehabilitation. Routine positive correction to negative learned behavior will help your pet to change and respond obediently. We strongly encourage all members of the family to participate in these opportunity exercises.  Whatever the behavior may be (barking, growling, "marking", jumping etc.)  If you and all members of the family are diligent with working with your pet, they are capable of being the loyal listener and companion you want him/her to be.

Our dog walkers and pet specialists are available seven days a week, including all holidays and short notice.

Our mission is to provide quality individualized care for your pet, and to build a trusting relationship through compassion, personal interaction and structure with all breeds.
